Types of Residence Permits

Work Residence:

For private or government sector employment

Investment Residence:

Required Documents

  • Valid passport for at least 6 months
  • Valid entry visa
  • Certified health certificate
  • Criminal record certificate from country of origin
  • Employment contract or job offer (for work residence)

Duration and Renewal

Residence Duration:

  • Work residence: One year renewable
  • Investment residence: 3-5 years
  • Student residence: Duration of studies

Renewal Conditions:

  • Submit renewal application one month before expiry
  • Continued fulfillment of original residence conditions
  • No criminal record

Penalties and Fines

Expired residence permit:

Fine of 500 EGP per month of delay

Working without permit:

Fine from 5000 to 20000 EGP + possible deportation

Not registering address:

Fine of 1000 EGP
